Wealth Management / Growth Capital

A growth capital firm that had to read as a partner, not private equity.

Backed by Charlesbank Capital Partners, Rise invests in and partners with independent RIA firms — with a portfolio including Grimes and Company, OnePoint BFG Wealth Partners, and Cyndeo Wealth Partners.

The situation

RIA founders considering outside capital are, correctly, suspicious of it. The firms Rise wants to back are mission-driven owners who have spent decades building a culture and are frightened of a private equity buyer flattening it. So the entire site had one job before it had any other: signal that this is a different kind of capital partner. Anything that read as transactional would lose the reader in the first screen.

What I did

Messaging and content strategy

Led with legacy, culture, and aligned incentives rather than returns and multiples. Built the team section around the fact that Rise's people have themselves built and scaled wealth management businesses — the single most disarming fact available — and gave the portfolio firms real presence as proof that culture survived the deal.

SEO, AEO & GEO

Structured the Insights section and podcast content as the top-of-funnel layer, targeting the questions RIA owners search before they ever contact a capital partner. Entity work so Rise, its people, and its portfolio firms connect cleanly for search engines and AI answer surfaces.

Design and build

WordPress with custom branding and a multimedia-heavy layout — video, podcast episodes, and press — that stays fast despite the media weight.

The outcome

A site that opens on relationship and legacy, carries the portfolio and press as proof, and gives the firm a publishing surface for its podcast and insights programme.

Rise came out of it with a publishing surface rather than a brochure. Podcast episodes, insights, and press land on the site without developer involvement, which matters because the RIA founders Rise wants to reach spend months reading before they ever make contact. The portfolio firms carry the argument that culture survived the deal, and they carry it on the page rather than in a pitch meeting.
